Privacy Policy

Verdeaux is run by Westside Management LLC, a Minnesota company. This page says what we collect, why, who helps us run Verdeaux, how long we keep it, and how to see, download or delete it.

1. What we collect

• Your account — your email, for signing in, and the name, ZIP, city and phone number you give us.
• Your plan — your date, guest count, budget and the answers you give in each guide; the vendors you research, book or hide; your guest list and seating; and the tasks and payments you track.
• What you write — your chats with Vera, the emails you draft, and vendor replies you paste in.
• Payments — a record of what you paid and when. Your card goes to Stripe, never to us.
• Start free visits — when you start a plan: which page you started from, the website that linked you to us (its domain only, such as instagram.com), the ad or tagged link that brought you, the approximate city and state our host infers from your connection, and a one-way hash of your IP address used for rate limiting. We do not store your IP address or your precise location.
• Shared vendor knowledge — Google's facts about vendors you look up, our research about them, and counts of how many couples considered or booked each one. It does not link back to you.

2. Why we collect it

• To keep your plan and show it on every device you use.
• To run Vera and the guides: research, drafts, estimates and reviews.
• To build shared, anonymous vendor knowledge that helps every couple.
• To keep Verdeaux safe from abuse, and to learn which ads and links bring couples to us.

3. Contracts you upload

• Your file is read on your own phone or computer. Only its text is sent to us, once, when you start a review.
• We send that text to Anthropic's Claude to write your review. Anthropic doesn't use it to train its models.
• We never store your contract or its text. We keep our review, in our own words; any finding that repeats your contract's wording is rewritten or dropped before it's saved.
• If you ask, we email you the review as a PDF, sent through Resend.
• The person who ran a review can delete it from Contracts → Your reviews. Deleting your account deletes the weddings you own and every review in them.

4. Who helps us run Verdeaux

These companies do work for us. Apart from ad measurement (section 5), none of them gets your data for its own marketing.

• Supabase — stores your account and your plan.
• Netlify — hosts this site and runs our server code.
• Anthropic — Claude writes Vera's answers, our research and your reviews. What you ask is sent to Anthropic when you ask it. Anthropic doesn't use it to train its models.
• Google — Places finds vendors from your ZIP and search, and Google Fonts serves some of our fonts.
• Mapbox — draws maps and works out drive times for your trips.
• Stripe — takes your payment.
• Resend — sends our emails: sign-in links, reminders, and the plans or reviews you ask us to send.
• Open-Meteo and Zippopotam.us — public services that get only a town or a ZIP code: the weather for your day, and the town a ZIP belongs to.
• jsDelivr and cdnjs — serve open-source code our pages use, such as the reader that opens your contract on your device.
• Pinterest and OpenAI — measure our ads (section 5).

We never sell your personal data to advertisers, data brokers or anyone else.

5. Ads, and how to turn them off

We advertise on Pinterest and in ChatGPT. To learn which ads bring couples to us, our pages load Pinterest's tag and OpenAI's ad pixel, and we tell them when you start a plan, make an account or pay.

What they get: the page you're on, a random ID for this browser, your IP address and browser details, the ad's click ID, and at sign-up your email in scrambled (hashed) form, which they can match to an account you have with them. Their tags set their own cookies to do this.

Turning it off stops both tags in this browser and stops our server sending them anything about you. Your choice is kept in this browser, so set it on each browser you use. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we treat that as off.

6. How long we keep it

• Your account and plan: until you delete your account.
• A Start free plan you don't save: deleted about a day after you start it.
• A contract review: until the person who ran it deletes it, or the wedding is deleted.
• Payment records: kept for our books after you delete your account, no longer linked to it.
• Start free visit records and shared vendor knowledge: kept, with nothing that names you.

7. Your choices

• See it — sign in; your plan is all there.
• Download it — Account → Download my data gives you one file with everything we hold about you.
• Correct it — edit any field in the app, or email us.
• Delete it — Account → Delete my Verdeaux account, then type DELETE. This removes your account and the weddings you own, with their reviews. Shared vendor knowledge stays, without your name on it.
• Ads — turn measurement off in section 5.

If you're in the EU or UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA), you can also object to or restrict how we use your data, and complain to your data protection authority.

8. Cookies and storage

Your browser keeps your work in progress, and the link that first brought you here so a plan you start later counts for it. Supabase keeps you signed in. Pinterest's and OpenAI's tags set their own cookies for ad measurement, unless you turn it off in section 5. Turning it off sets one cookie of ours, vx_no_ads, which remembers your choice.

9. Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Our AI requests go through our own server, so your browser never handles our keys. Row-level security in our database keeps each account's data to that account.

No system is perfectly secure. If you find a vulnerability, please email support@verdeaux.com.

10. Children

Verdeaux is not meant for anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes to this policy

When this page changes, we update the date at the top.
