Privacy Policy
Verdeaux ("we," "our," "us") helps couples plan their wedding. This page explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over your data.
1. What we collect
- Account data — email address (for sign-in) and an anonymous user ID.
- Wedding profile — the inputs you type in the Prepare screen: date, guest count, ZIP, budget, and the freeform "what you need" / "anything else" text.
- Interview answers — the category-specific questions you answer (venue, catering, etc.) and the vendors you research, lock, or hide.
- Outreach history — email drafts you generate, subject/body text you edit, who you mark as sent, and any vendor replies you paste back.
- Proposal comparisons — the proposal text you paste or upload into the Review screen, and the AI analysis results.
- Shared vendor data — Google Places facts about vendors you look up, our AI research findings, and aggregate signals (how many users have considered or locked a given vendor). This corpus is anonymous — it does not link back to your account.
2. Why we collect it
- To personalize your wedding-planning guidance across devices.
- To power the AI features that draft outreach emails, compare proposals, and flag hidden-cost risk.
- To build a shared, anonymous knowledge base about wedding vendors that makes Verdeaux better for every couple over time.
- To protect our service from abuse (rate limiting, spam).
3. Who we share it with
We use these third parties to run Verdeaux. None of them receive your data for their own marketing purposes.
- Supabase — hosts your account, wedding profile, interview answers, outreach history, and proposal comparisons.
- Netlify — hosts this website and runs our serverless functions.
- Anthropic — powers the AI research, outreach drafts, and proposal-comparison features. Your prompts are sent to Anthropic's API each time you trigger a Claude feature. Anthropic's retention and usage policies apply to that transfer (Anthropic does not train on API traffic by default).
- Google Places — returns factual vendor data (name, address, rating, hours, phone) based on your ZIP and search criteria.
We never sell your personal data to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else.
4. How long we keep it
- Account data, wedding profile, interview answers, outreach, and proposal comparisons: retained until you delete your account.
- Shared vendor facts and AI enrichment rows: retained indefinitely in anonymous form to improve the service.
- Rate-limiting logs: rolling 7 days.
5. Your rights
Regardless of where you live, you can:
- Access — see everything we have about you by signing in; most of it is rendered directly in the app.
- Export — email support@verdeaux.com for a machine-readable copy of your data.
- Delete — click the "Account" link at the bottom of the app and type DELETE in the confirmation modal. This permanently removes your account, profile, interview answers, outreach, and proposal comparisons. Anonymous shared-corpus rows stay (they do not identify you).
- Correct — edit any field in the app, or email us for assistance.
If you're in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA), you additionally have the right to object to processing, restrict processing, and lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
6. Cookies and local storage
We use browser localStorage to remember your in-progress work (filter choices, partially filled forms) so you don't lose data between sessions. We use a Supabase session cookie / token to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
7. Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Your Anthropic API calls go through our serverless proxy so your browser never handles our API key. Row-level security policies in our database scope every user's data to their own account.
No system is perfectly secure. If you discover a vulnerability, please email support@verdeaux.com.
8. Children
Verdeaux is not intended for anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page whenever the policy changes. Material changes (like adding a new third party) will be announced in-app.
